oh my, one other thought.
are there bases in this game? i would imagine so. can a defending fleet of a base disengage after the 30 min? leaving only the base?
can a base disengage, since it cannot move?
can an attacking fleet force a standstill on a base? (since the rules for that are not in the rules, that was/is one of the questions I forgot to ask).

1. Bases
a. Each side will have bases located in the nation's territory. b. The real question: Will base battles occur in the campaign? Answer: No. Who knows, planets in the Triangle may have small bases. The only possible way of a base battle would occur if two adversarial fleet entered a planetary system simultaneously. In this case, I have confidence the planetary system would remain on a neutral standing and attack any combatant fleets that strays too close to the planet or base, i.e., viewed as a threat.
2. Retreat
a. This campaign will involve mostly frigates. Generally, frigate vs frigate battles should not begin with the thought "I have to retreat at 30 minutes." b. I wanted to eliminate the retreat roll. The only other option will entail an "everyone can retreat prior to battle." I really did not want to do this either. c. I know that 80% of you have never played under such a rule. But again, each Leader/Commander will need to strategize on a plan to prevent pre-mature combat end. Thankfully, that problem belongs to you not me. d. Then again, if you allow a scout to do its true job, you will not have to worry about over matched battles.

Hm, well the only way i can concieve of a base being able to retreat would be by cloaking. Since a cloaked unit may stay in the sector if it is succesful as under the cloaking rules.

a base, who cloaks, once a battle has started, IS STILL THERE LOL. ships will know where to shoot, as it cant move. not so sure about rulings on that ehehehe.
no matter the rules, I will abide by them. I just wish to clarify things prior to playing.
as per the 30 min retreat,,,, yes it is new. And as stated, it is nearly all frigates vs frigates,,,,,,,, so, generally no big ship loss, no long battles due to big ships, etc.... still, as stated, leaders must plan for this newer rule.

i am glad to follow any rules put into place. I just was making sure I understood the rule. I agree if there are only frigates and small ships in most or all of these battles then 30 minutes would work out better than I initially thought. But in any event I am fine with any rules put into place.

question on your typed rule here:
. Bases
a. Each side will have bases located in the nation's territory. b. The real question: Will base battles occur in the campaign? Answer: No. Who knows, planets in the Triangle may have small bases. The only possible way of a base battle would occur if two adversarial fleet entered a planetary system simultaneously. In this case, I have confidence the planetary system would remain on a neutral standing and attack any combatant fleets that strays too close to the planet or base, i.e., viewed as a threat.
doe this mean that Bases are to be ignored, as in not attacked? if so, does it mean that Klingons cannot enter Fed or Rom space, and vice-versa?/
The rules say you can only repair at bases, which is fine and great, but say if a team wanted to effectively stop another team from repairing, the best way would be to take out the base..... unless we are not allowed to do such...
please clarify. thx.

1. No base battles should occur. All battles will occur away from bases, i.e., two fleets enter a planetary system simultaneously.
2. Attacking Adversarial Bases - this action would start a general war. None of the major powers have 100% prepared for this, hence no. No fleet should enter an adversary's territory.
3. If you want to stop repairs, then blockade territories. If you can...

I require one more rule.
Leaders please discuss the two options presented below, then provided a choice.
Battle Corollary Option 1:
During battle, an adversary may tractor an enemy and push their ship off the map.
a. If this action occurs prior to the minimum 30 minute period, the ship will be considered destroyed. b. If this action occurs after the minimum 30 minute period, the ship will be considered a forced retreat. c. An adversary may tractor a ship to prevent the ship from escaping.
Battle Corollary Option 2:
During battle, an adversary may not tractor an enemy with the intent to push their ship off the map. An adversary may tractor a ship to prevent the ship from escaping.

One more thing:
I do not believe a solid "victory award" came to light.
Leaders, please discuss with your team and post a response.
